Course description

This is a four-part, 12-hour monopile design course that takes students from the design basis, through load assessment and structural design. The final module is delivered as a live case study, demonstrating in practice the concepts and methods taught in the preceding modules.

Course objectives

The objective of the course is to guide students through the intricacies of monopile detail design, enabling them to become familiar with key principles, best practices, common pitfalls, and typical workflows. The course aims to show how monopile design is carried out in practice and is intended for discipline leads, engineering managers, and package managers who wish to gain a deeper understanding of the activities and decisions within their scope.
